Up

Indian Head Massage or Champissage was introduced to the West by Narendra Mehta. It is based on the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been practised in India for over a thousand years.

Indian families practise massage on each other daily to provide relaxation and healing. It is not just the head that is massaged but in a full session the upper back, neck, shoulders and upper arms and pressure points on the face are treated as well as the head. Shortened forms concentrate on what you need at the time for a pick-me-up. It is a great treatment for the workplace as it can be carried out at your desk with no special equipment needed.

Indian Head Massage is deeply calming and relaxing, but at the same time leaves you feeling revitalised and energised and better able to concentrate. Following a treatment some clients may experience slightly aching muscles an increased desire to urinate (as the body eliminates toxins and waste materials), tiredness, headache or slight dizziness. All of these are normal reactions and should not last for long. Most people generally experience an increase in energy, alertness and wellbeing.
